Fortunately, pets give us clues such as a drop in appetite, a change in thirst, or a limp. The veterinarian makes the diagnoses by getting a complete history of the pet and doing a thorough exam. In some cases, additional testing -- x-rays, ultrasound scanning, blood, urine or stool tests -- may be necessary to complete the diagnosis. After compiling all the information the vet is then able to recommend an appropriate course of action.

Great effort on the part of both doctor and staff is dedicated to preventative medicine. Every pet should receive a yearly check-up, good diet, vaccines based on need, parasite control and regular dental care. For pets over six years,  blood testing and twice yearly check-ups to monitor internal health are highly recommended.

Above all, a veterinary doctor and her staff are dedicated to maintaining the pet's health to insure the happiness of both pet and owner.

"Ava" and "Zac"- Two of our special patients, born without eyes....they were adopted by a wonderful client who has owned blind (from birth) cats for over 15 years.  They are happy, play a lot and have exquisite hearing.
